Bridging multidisciplinary approaches

The 7th European Multidisciplinary Meeting on Urological Cancers (EMUC) will return to Barcelona, Spain in 2015, for another comprehensive and insightful meeting on the various multidisciplinary strategies that play a key role in the optimal management of urological malignancies.

With the input and participation of specialists in uro-oncology, medical oncology and radiotherapy from and outside Europe, the EMUC focuses on the goal to critically examine challenges and discuss controversial issues in uro-oncology. As in previous years, the ESMO, ESTRO and the EAU are co-organising this annual event together with the support of their partners and affiliated organisations (EORTC GUCG, EUOG, ESUR, ESP/ESUP).

Opinion leaders and uro-oncology experts will lead in plenary sessions, debates, panel discussions and present lectures that will identify problem areas and prospects in day-to-day clinical practice.

The 4th EAU Section of Urological Imaging (ESUI) meeting is organised in conjunction with the 7th EMUC meeting. This represents a unique opportunity to gather experts for other specialties such as radiology, nuclear medicine, and medical oncology in this meeting. The meeting’s slogan is “Imaging and Individualized Medicine”. The meeting highlights the increasing role that imaging plays in Urology, as well as its increasing influence on the management of urological pathologies.

For the first time, the European School of Oncology (ESO) will also hold during EMUC 2015 the ESO Interdisciplinary Conference to examine insights on personalised approach to prostate cancer management. Completing this meeting will be two courses organised by the European School of Urology: Medical treatment of metastatic renal cancer and Castrate resistant prostate cancer.

For the second time, EMUC will host the Autumn meeting of the Young Academic Urologists Working Parties. The YAU is a group established under the umbrella of the EAU and formed by the most talented European researchers and clinicians in urology of aged forty or under. Also, complementing the scientific programme is the ESU‐ERUS Hands‐on Training courses and Falcon Workshop which aim to refine skills in minimal invasive procedures.

We hope to see you in 2015 for yet another in-depth meeting in Barcelona!
